Grand Prairie Friends.
Grand Prairie Friends (GPF) is a nonprofit organization composed of people from many walks of life who share a commitment to preserving and restoring tallgrass prairie in East-Central Illinois.
High Altitude Revegetation Committee.
This is an informal group that got started at Colo. St. University in the early 1970s. It is not so much an organization as a mailing list. The group sponsors the High Altitude Revegetation Workshop every two years and a summer field tour every year (the latter is free). Someone finally put together a web site which has more information about the group and the workshops and tours.
The Prairie Enthusiasts.
The Prairie Enthusiasts is a grassroots, volunteer based organization concerned with the maintenance and recovery of the tallgrass prairie and oak savanna ecosystems of Wisconsin and northern Illinois. There is a Discussion Group that may be helpful.
