PLATEAU Herbicide Soon Available in Smaller Package

Sometime soon after the first of the year, PLATEAUâ herbicide will be available in ECO-PAK's. ECO-PAK's will be a small water soluble packet (WSP) with a dry granular formulation of PLATEAUâ inside. Each ECO-PAK will contain the equivalent of 4 liquid ounces of PLATEAUâ. There will be two ECO-PAK's, 8 ounces liquid equivalent, packaged in a foil envelope. The foil envelope will be the smallest package size available for sale.
Over the past year I received many requests for less than 1 gallon quantities of PLATEAUâ herbicide. Many of you wanted to plant only a few acres or just a wildflower patch and could not justify the cost of a full gallon. Unfortunately I was unable to meet those requests due to EPA laws regulating the repackaging of herbicides. You now have a choice.

Additional problems arose with the availability of PLATEAUâ. American Cyanamid restricted the sale of PLATEAUâ to southern states due to a conflict with another of their products. With this new packaging, PLATEAUâ is now available in all southern states.

The ECO-PAK's provide a convenient way to spray. Simply drop into 10 - 25 gallons of water the number WSP's necessary to achieve the desired rate, one for 4 ounces per acre, two for 8 ounces per acre and 3 for 12 ounces per acre. It is important to remember a surfactant is still necessary. A surfactant was not included in the formulation due to the fact that different surfactants are recommended for different applications and surfactants are readily available at local farm and home supply stores, co-op's and ag-chem dealers.

As soon as the new ECO-PAK's are available, Environmental Repair Services will carry them. The price will be $60.00 per foil envelope plus shipping and handling. Based upon this price, if your needs call for a quart or less of PLATEAUâ, the ECO-PAK is more economical, if your needs call for more than a quart, a gallon will be the most cost efficient.
