SPOT TREATMENTS:

For ATV type sprayers, to prepare a spray solution for noxious weed control, thoroughly mix 4 to 12 ounces per 15 gallons of water plus an adjuvant (see "SPRAY ADJUVANTS FOR POSTEMERGENCE APPLICATIONS" section). Apply at 15 GPA. If applying at higher gallons of water per acre, adjust Plateau liquid rate accordingly. Four ounces per acre is recommended for most mixed prairie plantings; 8 to 12 ounces for perennial or noxious weed control (See individual sections of the label).

For small hand held sprayers, mix a stock solution by thoroughly mixing 4 ounces per gallon of water. Make sure the container is opaque to sunlight or UV treated. PLATEAU breaks down rapidly when exposed to water and sunlight.

To make 1 gallon of spray solution to cover 1000 sq. ft
ounces /A oz of stock solution mls of stock solution cups of stock solution
4 2.8 83 1/3
8 5.6 166 2/3
12 8.5 249 1

To make a spray solution, use above chart to determine how much stock solution to add to make one gallon of spray mix (Double for 2 gallons of spray mix, etc.) One gallon of spray mixture will cover 1000 square feet.

TO MAKE A STRAIGHT SPRAY SOLUTION:

Suggestion: Mark out an area 20 by 50 feet. Spray the area with water to become comfortable with applying to this small area and avoid over application.

For 1 gallon of Spray: To apply PLATEAU at 4 ounces per acre, mix 5.89 mls in 1 gallon of water. Thoroughly mix the Plateau in the water. Then add appropriate surfactant. This 1 gallon of spray mix will treat 1000 square feet. Do not over apply.

A veterinarian syringe, available at most pharmaceutical stores, calibrated in milliliters works best for obtaining the correct amount of herbicide.

A methylated seed oil is recommended for noxious weeds. A silicon or nonionic surfactant is recommended for new grass/forb plantings and annual weed control. See section on desired species and do not exceed the recommended Plateau rate per acre. Also see "WEEDS CONTROLLED" and "SPECIAL WEEDS CONTROLLED" sections for specific rate, timing and/or tank-mix recommendations.

HOW TO DETERMINE THE SPRAY RATE OF YOUR EQUIPMENT
1. Mark of a 1,000 square foot area.
2. Time in seconds how long it takes to spray this area using your normal spraying procedure.
3. Spray into a 5 gallon bucket for the same amount of time. Make sure to use the same pressure.
4. Measure the amount in gallons.
5. Multiply the number of gallons by 43.56 to get gallons per acre.
